Pocket Gamer Reviews Air Master 3D

A big thanks to pocketgamer.co.uk and Spanner Spencer for reviewing Air Master 3D! It was a very fair review, and from a developer’s perspective I have to say it’s invaluable feedback to help steer my future updates. I wasn’t expecting them to review it, so I was just excited to see my game on the front page!

Stay tuned for update 1.5, which will address a lot of the issues I’ve been collecting feedback on from 1.4.

Air Master 3D v1.4 Submitted

Air Master 3D‘s 1.4 update was submitted the other night! I hear there’s a bit of a backlog at Apple for update approval, so it may take longer than the usual week to go live on iTunes. Here’s the changelist:

  • Improved terrain graphics
  • Improved level load time 35%
  • Added 3rd person chase camera as an in-game toggle

  • Improved in-game UI text and icons
  • Added UI feedback sound (button click)
  • Screen shake is now triggered by ground collision when enabled
  • Added an additional “how to play” screen, now shows on first run

AppSmile.com Review of Air Master 3D

The kind folks over at AppSmile.com have put up a nice review of Air Master 3D – thanks very much to them for reviewing the game!

Air Master 3D is quite a little gem hidden among the App Store clutter.  We would love to see updates to include a more handsome interface with improved touch response. We would also expect a global leader board improved graphics to be included in the near future. And, as long as we’re on the subject, how about a local wifi feature where friends can team up to take out the opposition simultaneously?

In the meantime, we’re gonna give Air Master 3D a 4-Dimple rating for clever features and nearly flawless controls.  Hoping to hear more from Alex Nankervis soon…

Air Master 3D Lite Approved!

The dem… err, “lite” version of Air Master 3D was approved earlier today! You can find it on the App Store here. To go along with the release of the demo, I’ve dropped the price of the full version to $.99! I’m hoping that having a demo up will get more people to try AM3D – it’s tough convincing people to download your game, especially given how crowded the App Store is.

The demo contains just one planet – the snow planet – and no custom level mode, which I think is becoming my favorite part of the game now.

I had noticed this mentioned somewhere, but it seems that Apple is no longer sending out emails notifying you of an app’s approval for sale. This means that you have to constantly check itunesconnect about your app’s status, or risk showing up a page or two down when your app comes out – killing your app before it ever has a chance.

Air Master 3D Lite Submitted

I just submitted Air Master 3D Lite to Apple for review – if all goes well, expect to see it in the App Store in about a week! The demo for Air Master 3D includes just one planet (the snow planet) and no custom level mode. Also, as of this version, Air Master 3D has a new icon! The old one was pretty bland… hopefully this one will stand out a bit more!

Air Master 3D v1.3 Update Approved!

The 1.3 update was approved last night! I haven’t heard of updates being approved on the weekend before, so Apple must be trying to fight the backlog of submissions.

It’s up and visible on the App Store now. Thanks to everyone who left reviews in iTunes and elsewhere – it’s all invaluable feedback and I love hearing what people like and don’t like in the game!
